Description from the seller
An antique car bud vase with its corresponding metal mounting bracket. Vases of this type were an extremely popular accessory for luxury and enclosed vehicles (such as limousines) during the 1920s and 1930s; they were frequently used in models like the Ford Model T and Model A, as well as older models from brands such as Chevrolet, Packard, and Cadillac. Key features of this item: • Purpose: They were used to hold fresh or artificial flowers, providing a pleasant scent and freshening the air inside the vehicle before the invention of modern air fresheners. • Design: The vase is made of clear, cut glass featuring elegant leaf and twig motifs. It has a conical shape, allowing it to sit securely within the ring mount. • Mount: A metal ring with a side plate allowed the vase to be attached to the car's interior upholstery—most commonly to the pillar between the windows (the so-called B-pillar) or to the back of the front seats. Today, such items are highly prized by vintage vehicle collectors and antique enthusiasts alike.
