Weiss – Albert Weiss demi-parure comprising a floral brooch and matching clip earrings, in gold-plated metal with multicolour rhinestones (blue, green and turquoise), total weight 31 g, from the 1950s United States.
Description from the seller
Weiss – Floral Rhinestone Brooch & Clip Earrings Demi-Parure – 1950s
Demi-parure Weiss composed of a floral brooch and a matching pair of clip earrings, combining gold-toned metal, blue, green, and turquoise rhinestones.
The brooch features an asymmetrical floral design, with leaves in finely ribbed gold-toned metal, navette rhinestones evoking petals and foliage, as well as round crystals and small light-blue rhinestones. The earrings reproduce the same elements in a more compact arrangement.
The mix of different stone sizes, the shades of blue and green, and the textured gold surfaces add depth, contrast, and luminosity to the whole.
Albert Weiss founded his costume jewelry house in New York in 1942, after working at Coro. Recognized in the 1950s and 1960s for the quality of its creations, the Weiss house stands out especially for its floral and figurative jewelry, its colorful compositions, and the carefully pavé-set Austrian rhinestones.
