Story & Heritage
Founded in 1861 in Schramberg, Germany, Junghans is one of the most historically significant names in German watchmaking.
The company developed from a traditional clock manufacturer into one of Europe's major producers of mechanical timepieces, becoming internationally recognized for its technical expertise, precision engineering and functional design.
During the mid-20th century, Junghans played an important role in making reliable mechanical wristwatches accessible to a wider public, while maintaining the quality and craftsmanship associated with German horology.
The 1960s represented an important period for the brand, when elegant mechanical wristwatches reflected the growing appreciation for clean design, practical functionality and modern manufacturing techniques.
This Junghans 17 Jewels captures that era through its refined silver sunburst dial, gold plated case and traditional hand-wound mechanical movement.
The calibre 689 movement is a reminder of the period when watchmaking was defined by intricate mechanical components, carefully assembled to measure time without electronic assistance.
