Chinese porcelain Imari light-house shaped large coffee pot –China- 18th Century
On offer is a large and rare Chinese Imari porcelain coffee pot with its original matching lid. This large beautiful 18th Century light-house model coffee pot has a tapered form and wide base and a C-shaped handle and curved spout. The sides are painted with several Chinese peony flowers, plums and a king fisher bird!
The fact that the handle is placed at an 90 degrees angle to the spout indicates an origin before 1760, because after that date, the VOC ordained that pots with spout and handle should be in straight line. The shape is based on Western-Europe silver models. A rare example!
Date: Qianlong period 1736-1795 ca. 1740-1760.
Size: Measures ca. 11,5cm in height. Base: 6,4cm.
Condition: good! The base of the lid knob has been professionally restored, this is nearly invisible. Further only a restored chip at the spout. For the rest no damage!
Will be packed very well and shipped with registered track/trace with insurance. Combined shipping possible, we return postage costs.
