Description from the seller
A particularly decorative and elegant set of two matching vintage table lamps, rendered in a striking combination of glazed ceramic/porcelain, gold-colored metal and warm rust/brown velvet lampshades.
The most characteristic feature of these lamps is the beautifully formed, domed ceramic base. It is finished in a dark blue‑gray glaze with vertical relief lines and is interrupted by an abstract, mosaic-like decoration. Here, several colors and patterns are incorporated, including deep blue, terracotta/reddish brown, soft pink, cream and marbled black-and-white areas. The irregular surfaces and gold/brass-colored dividing lines give each side a different appearance and make the lamps particularly decorative.
The ceramic elements rest on broad, stepped gold-colored metal feet. Above them stand slender metal columns with classical detailing. The combination of the glossy metal with the artistic ceramic gives the lamps a luxurious look reminiscent of interior design from the latter half of the 20th century.
The set is equipped with two large cylindrical lampshades in a warm rust-brown/brown velvet-like fabric. The soft texture of the shades forms a beautiful contrast with the glossy ceramic and metal. When the lamps are lit, they emit a cozy warm light, creating a pleasant glow above and below the shades as well.
Particularly attractive is that the ceramic decoration continues around the piece. From different angles, other color fields and patterns become visible. This allows the lamps to look striking both as free-standing pieces and when placed on a sideboard, sidetable, or two side tables.
The two lamps form a convincing and symmetrical set and are very suitable for a Hollywood Regency, Mid-Century, eclectic, vintage, or maximalist interior. They can also be used as pronounced decorative focal points in a modern interior.
Condition
The lamps are in good vintage condition for their age, showing normal signs of use and aging. On the gold-colored metal parts there is some localized discoloration/patina and light superficial wear visible. The ceramic and textile parts may also show small signs of use. These are in keeping with the age and vintage character of the set.
The photos are an integral part of the condition description and provide a clear view of the design, decor, and existing signs of wear.
Both lamps are depicted as working in the photos and emit a beautiful, warm ambient light."} }/* end */ } newline? Ensure valid JSON. Done. Use single object. No trailing text. Placeholder. End.:**}*/ Wait ensure no extraneous. The above is valid.}}>
