Description from the seller
Fascinating advertising manifesto dedicated to Il Mattino di Napoli, one of the oldest and most influential daily newspapers in Southern Italy.
Note well: This is a later edition, probably from the 1970s.
The image is one of the most iconic in Italian advertising graphics of the early 20th century: a majestic rooster in vivid colors rises against a dark background, symbolizing the morning awakening and the spread of information. An extraordinary composition of visual power that combines immediacy of communication, graphical elegance, and strong decorative impact.
The work was designed by Achille Mauzan, a celebrated illustrator and poster designer who was among the main protagonists of European advertising in the first half of the 20th century. His unmistakable style, characterized by intense colors, visual synthesis, and strong communicative capacity, has made his posters some of the most sought-after by collectors.
