Description from the seller

Artist:
Salvador Dalí (Spain, 1904 - 1989).

Title of the work and date:
"Gala looking at the Mediterranean Sea which at a distance of 20 meters transforms into the portrait of Abraham Lincoln (Homage to Rothko)".
- Original work created between 1974 and 1976.
- Year of edition of this copy: 1988.

Technique and Support (Very important):
High-quality lithographic/giclée print stamped directly on flexible CANVAS, not on paper.

Edition information and context:
Rare and coveted canvas edition of Dalí’s most famous optical work, published in Spain in 1988 by the official managing entity "Distribucions d'art surrealista S.A." with authorization from the Martin Lawrence Collection. The canvas print gives a painterly texture and a visual presence far superior to typical paper editions, making it a high-impact piece for luxury interiors and decor. The famous double visual effect (Gala up close / Abraham Lincoln at 20 meters) is spectacularly evident thanks to the canvas weave.

Printer’s imprint and inscriptions:
The work features the entire editorial text block intentionally printed "upside down" in the lower margin, a typically Dalinian wink to mirror-reading.
(Texts repeated in Catalan, French, Spanish and English).
- Right margin: Logo and text "Distribucions d'art surrealista, s.a.".
- Left margin: "D.P. 115-T D.L.B.: 25023 - 1988 I.G.I.S.A. Prohibida la reproducción - Printed in Spain".

Material and dimensions:
- Support: Canvas.
- Dimensions: 77.5 x 64 cm.

Provenance:
Private collection, Spain. Published by Distribuciones d'art surrealista S.A. in 1988.

Condition:
Condition between Very Good and Excellent (Vintage Very Good / Excellent).
- As it is printed on canvas, the support is far more resistant than paper.
- The printed area of the work is immaculate, with vivid colors, well-defined pixels, and no wear or fading.
- The outer white margins are intact, clean, and straight, showing only very slight storage marks (tiny rubs on a corner that will completely disappear once mounted on a frame).
- Unframed / unmounted on a stretcher. (See detailed photographs).

Shipping:
Professional, maximum-security packing, rolled with special protection in a rigid high-density tube, with tracking number and transport insurance.
