**Description / Description:**

For auction: a characterful, authentic overseas and travel trunk from the late 19th century (Historicism / Gründerzeit) from England. The model impresses with its distinctive curved lid shape ("Dome Top / Barrel Top"), which at the time prevented heavy luggage from stacking on the trunk.

Particularly appealing is the historic patina with hand-painted yellow-gold stencil inscriptions on the lid: the monogram "S. S." (initials of the traveler at the time) as well as the registration/freight number "3029".

**Construction & Details:**

* **Hull:** Solid wood body, externally clad with original durable fabric (oilcloth/canvas).

* **Hardware:** Fully reinforced with riveted iron and wood strips, including original corner protectors, two massive lock plates (no key) and side folding handles made of iron.

* **Interior:** Original blue-yellow striped wallpaper inside the rounded lid with a historical manufacturer fragment ("...ER"); the lower chest is covered with a clean protective cloth.
