Description from the seller

Suspended between light and silence, she seems to have found a place where time ceases to exist. Under the surface, movements slow down, thoughts become lighter, and the tumult of the world fades away. An invitation to hold your breath for a few moments... and to savor the fragile beauty of the present moment.

About the Summer light series: This series of contemporary figurative paintings where light becomes the true subject. Through sun-soaked swimming pools, immaculate diving boards, and elegant silhouettes, Wags celebrates the simplicity of summer, the sweetness of life, and the evocative power of reflections. Inspired by Mediterranean aesthetics and contemporary photography, each work invites the viewer to extend that fragile moment when time seems suspended.

Biography:

Wags (better known by the pseudonym Kobalt) signs under several artist names, allowing him to explore different artistic universes.

Wags, born in Paris in 1970, embodies the path of a polymorphous artist whose creativity has unfolded from electronic music to contemporary graphic art. Coming from a family where art was already present thanks to his father, a draftsman, Wags discovers very early his first passion, music production. This passion guides him in his youth, and his early talents lead him to take a bold decision: to invest the money intended to finance his higher education in creating his first album.
Distributed by EMI, the album does not meet the expected success, but it marks the beginning of an artistic career rich in experimentation.

Parallel to his musical career, Wags enters the advertising world as a designer/writer for the iconic Playboy magazine. For many years, he brings his creativity to the publication by creating and producing the magazine’s advertising campaigns.

The turning point in his career comes in 2005 when he becomes a cameraman, thereby exploring a new facet of the visual world. In 2007, he discovers a passion for photography, adding another artistic string to his bow. In 2010, he successfully founds his own photo agency, highlighting his entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2017, Wags makes a radical choice to sell his agency to fully embrace graphic art, influenced by his son, who has become a major figure in global street art. A pioneer in computer-assisted art creation, Wags stands out with more than 3,000 works sold in galleries and online to date.

This contemporary figurative painting draws on classical realism and a modern glamorous aesthetic. Collectors who appreciate the light of Joaquín Sorolla, the mastery of Anders Zorn, the elegance of John Singer Sargent, as well as the worlds of Richard S. Johnson, Pino Daeni, Jack Vettriano, Fabian Perez, and Jeremy Lipking will find in this work a familiar atmosphere and treatment of light.
