Vega Sicilia, Tinto Valbuena 5, 1992, 0.75 L bottle, 1 bottle.
Description from the seller
Presenting a nice bottle of 1992 Valbuena 5 with a very good base neck fill level. Production: 165.300 Btls - Bottle number #021.161. Drinking perfectly now but also plenty of aging potential still. Bottle has been kept in a wine fridge. Label is stained from another bottle not affecting at all to this one / no leaks.
Grape Varieties: Blend is primarily composed of 80% Tinto Fino (Tempranillo), complemented by 10% Merlot and 10% Malbec.
The wine was aged using a sequence of 225-liter French and American oak barrels (both new and used to carefully control the wood impact) followed by transition into large 20,000-liter wooden vats to promote harmony, tension, and micro-oxygenation. The remainder of the 5-year timeline was completed in the bottle prior to commercial release.
Tasting Notes:
--------------
Appearance: Deep garnet color evolving into clear brick-red/tile tones on the rim.
Nose: Complex and highly expressive out of the bottle. It features a sophisticated bouquet of matured redcurrants, black cherry, and dark plums, layered alongside tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, cedar wood, mocha, tar, and iron.
Palate: Velvet-textured, ripe, and exceptionally round. The tannins have completely integrated and softened over time. It shows balanced acidity and a sprightly, dancing freshness with a lingering, slightly savory finish featuring hints of licorice and cocoa.
