The meeting between Vittorio Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi in the early 1990s opened a new chapter in the history of Tuscany’s great wines. For from this meeting was born a wine inspired by the desire to realize a dream: to produce in Montalcino, a terroir conducive to producing great wines, a wine that ventures beyond the borders of tradition, without renouncing it, drawing on the experience of two families that have shaped the history of wine. This ambitious project took the name Tenuta Luce, a name that evokes the sunlight of Montalcino, a source of life and sustenance, which marks the passing of the seasons and guides all agricultural activities.

Since then, the Luce estate has always honored this vision, and the estate’s flagship wine, Luce, has been joined by other great wines whose international renown is well established.

THE SYMBOL
Sol Solis. The radiant sun is the symbol that inspired the Luce brand. It is the sun carved on the high altar of the Santo Spirito Basilica, in Florence, commissioned in the 15th century to Brunelleschi and built on land donated by the Frescobaldi family.
An ambitious project named Luce, light in Italian, in homage to the sun, source of warmth, energy and life.
