Description from the seller
Mini vertical tasting of Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia 2021/2022/2023
Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia is the 'second wine' of the renowned Bolgheri estate Ornellaia, introduced for the first time with the 1997 vintage. It is produced from the same estate vineyards and with the same production philosophy, offering the character and elegance typical of the flagship but with greater accessibility and more immediate drinkability.
General Profile
Designation: Bolgheri DOC Red
Grape blend: Classic Bordeaux blend — Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (the proportions vary according to vintage performance, usually with a Merlot majority).
Aging: About 15 months in French oak barriques (25% new, 75% second use), with additional bottle aging before market release.
Character: A wine of great structure and balance, with an intense ruby red color. On the nose it stands out for pronounced notes of ripe berries (blackberry, blueberry), sweet spices, vanilla and balsamic or Mediterranean scrub nuances. On the palate it is enveloping, with silky tannins and a long, persistent finish.
