AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

This expressive oil painting shows an atmospheric portrayal of a ballerina on or behind the stage. It evokes reflections similar to the painting "Un bar aux Folies Bergère" from 1882, painted by the French master Édouard Manet. The painting style is strongly inspired by Impressionism and Modernism, in which the influence of the famous French master Edgar Degas is also recognizable in the theme and composition. Signed!

Seller's Story

My name is Reinoud Sprong, 25 years old and living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. From a family of three brothers and two enterprising parents, I developed a passion for art and antiques at a young age. I attended the major art fairs, and visited museums. I also started reading early about art that particularly interested me. That led to pursuing a Bachelor in History at Utrecht University, after which my master’s in Art, Market and Connoisseurship at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam crowned the academic level of art. Since my youth I have had a fondness for trade and entrepreneurship. From my own disco, catering and various side ventures it was time for the real trade: Art and Antiques! Through my early interest I was able to do many different sniffing/internship experiences and gain field experience. After a six-month internship as junior expert in classical arts at the fastest growing European online auction house Catawiki I was sure; Reinoud would establish an official art dealing business for himself. I began with purchases at auctions, online marketplaces and visited markets. The first storage is located in my grandmother’s garage and thus the adventure began. Now, a little further on and I’m quite proud of how far we’ve come in a short time. We have clients worldwide and grow slowly. By actively engaging on social media we try, through our videos, to enthuse the younger generation for art and antiques. Currently we work from a small storage space that is almost always full. Clients are warmly welcome here by appointment! In the future we hope to be able to offer a larger collection of furniture and fine art. My goal is to open a large showroom in a characterful building, where we can welcome all clients. - Follow Art_Leap_Curation on Instagram!
