Archibald
Oil and acrylic on canvas
100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches)

Archibald is a confident and provocative portrait built around directness, sensuality and controlled intensity. Set against a warm buff titanium background, Archibald meets the viewer with a steady, almost impassive gaze, while the extended tongue introduces a bold erotic tension that feels deliberate rather than playful.

The dark body is rendered through broad, simplified tonal planes that give Archibald a strong sculptural presence. Textured black hair, pale green eyes and the vivid red tongue create sharp visual contrasts, while subtle highlights along the face, neck and torso add depth without disturbing the clean, contemporary composition.

What makes Archibald compelling is the balance between exposure and authority. The bare torso suggests intimacy, yet the expression remains guarded and self-possessed. Archibald appears fully aware of the attention he commands, transforming the provocative gesture into an assertion of confidence rather than vulnerability.

The result is a portrait that feels seductive, masculine and intense, heated in atmosphere, yet still restrained, polished and sophisticated.
