Description from the seller
Alexander Diener (born 1958) – Abstract composition – Oil on canvas – signed original
Expressive original painting by the German-Russian artist Alexander Diener. Diener was born in 1958 in the Altai, lived and worked, among others, in Kazakhstan and Russia, and has been based in Germany since 1995. According to published biographical information, he studied art in Moscow and was already active in Alma-Ata as a lecturer and private tutor; in Germany he continued his teaching activity.
The present abstract-figurative composition is characterized by free, powerful brushwork and a deliberately reduced formal language. From broad color fields and black outlines, suggested figures and figurative elements develop. The subdued reds and greens are enlivened by strong accents. The work shows Diener’s proximity to an expressive language influenced by Russian Modernism and the avant-garde.
Original painting, oil on canvas, signed. Acquired in 2022 directly as a work by Alexander Diener. Unframed and immediately ready to hang. From gallery stock.
