Given the nature of the technique I use to produce the works, every element of the series should be considered a unique piece.
"Ascend" is the first in a series of artifacts. It consists of a pyramidal prism, interrupted three-quarters of the way by a hollow portion. I regard this work as the revenge of the Self on the travails of existence, but also as an innate longing toward the heights. Toward a metamorphosis of form into pure energy. Matter becoming spirit. The hollow portion that interrupts the race of the form toward the peak is characterized as a set of parts that, when unused, remain imprinted as empty traces of past experiences.
