Salvatore Aiello's Ins...ewer is a limited edition kinetic artwork in mixed media from 2026, measuring 20 cm square and weighing 2 kg, edition 99, sold with a frame, hand-signed, produced directly by the artist in Italy, in the conceptual art style exploring pop culture and social media.
Description from the seller
Kinetic, dualistic artwork that uses perspective fragmentation on vertical slats to reveal the systemic deception of contemporary social media.
Viewed from the left, the installation returns the iconic silhouette of Instagram: a riot of warm, reassuring gradients that embody flawless aesthetics, the promise of connection, and instant gratification. It is the celebration of the polished façade and algorithmic consensus.
But simply change the angle to witness a dystopian reversal: the lens of the camera becomes the leaden mouth of a sewer duct from which toxic effluent pours out amid fish carcasses and plastic waste. The mirrored composition pins the observer to the true nature of the ecosystem: a “social sewer” that daily disgorges diseducative content, voyeurism, and ethical degradation.
A powerful visual reminder: the ephemera of interface splendor is nothing more than the sparkling mask of an open-air cultural drain.
