Antique hand-carved duck decoys (duck lure, hunting lure) Duck hunting wood, folk art from the 20th century. approx. 45 x 15 x 17 cm and approx. 1350 grams. Solid wood.
It shows heavily weathered patina and remnants of the original polychrome painting, which gives it its rustic charm. Preserved remnants of an original, multicolored patina or mounting (main body in dark blue-gray/gray and earth tones with reddish accents on the bill and head). Such ducks were historically used in hunting to attract other ducks, before industrial plastic models emerged.
