Description from the seller
Up for auction is a highly collectible and rare 1972 original French first pressing of Black Sabbath's masterpiece, Vol. 4.
Unlike the UK and German releases, the very first French edition was uniquely issued in a non-gatefold (single sleeve) cover, featuring the tracklist, credits, and the iconic band photo on the back. It comes with the legendary Vertigo "Swirl" label on Side 1.
Identifiers:
• Label: Vertigo – 6360 071
• Country: France (Made in France / SACEM SDRM logos on label)
• Matrix / Runout (Side 1, stamped): 6360 071 1 380 (1st Cut from the famous C.I.D.I.S. Louviers pressing plant)
• Matrix / Runout (Side 2, stamped): 6360 071 2 380
Condition:
• Vinyl: Very Good Plus (VG+)
The vinyl retains a beautiful glossy sheen. Under light, it shows minor surface hairlines and light paper scuffs that do not affect play. It plays great with minimal, occasional surface noise typical for a record of this age. No skips, no deep scratches. Labels are clean with minimal spindle wear.
• Cover: Very Good Plus (VG+)
The non-gatefold sleeve is in great structural condition. Bright colors, solid spine with readable text. Minor edge/corner wear and light ring wear consistent with age, but no tears, no writing, and no seam splits. Very well preserved!
