Description from the seller
“Missale Romanum ex decreto sacrosancti” 1759.
To: “Missae Propriae sanctorum” 1652.
In total, 2 works bound in one volume. The first work contains 12 full-page copperplates.
Bound in a beautiful contemporary binding. It features gold decorations, gold-embossed supralibros, a gold-decorated spine, as well as gold edges and two functioning clasps.
The pages are very cleanly preserved and are in good condition. The two flyleaves as well as the first five leaves have at the top and bottom two small defects, slightly in the text area, with some loss of text. Very similar defects affect the very back the last four leaves.
The title is slightly loosened.
Partially with some rubbing.
The bound-in work is in a smaller format, but has been correspondingly trimmed at the edges.
The pages of the bound-in work are consistently lightly creased.
The binding is very well preserved and only lightly rubbed. The upper cap of the spine shows slight defects, and the edges are a bit worn.
The mounting of one clasp is somewhat loose.
Collation: 22 leaves, 532 numbered pages, CXVIII numbered pages, 4 leaves, 29 numbered pages
Dimensions: 36 x 25 cm
