LUCENTE 2023
The winter was mostly dry and mild, leading to early but uniform budbreak,
beginning in the second week of March for the Sangiovese and
the third week for the Merlot. Spring was sunny, accompanied by some rain in May and June, which favored excellent flowering,
which occurred slightly early in the last week of May. The summer was hot and dry,
with significant day-night temperature variations. In the last week of August, two
very valuable rain showers brought relief to the plants and lowered temperatures,
allowing the vines to complete grape ripening. The harvest
began on September 3rd under ideal conditions, with sunny days without heat spikes. These
conditions allowed us to obtain grapes of excellent quality, with excellent phenolic ripeness
and excellent aromatic balance.
Lucente 2023 displays a brilliant ruby red color. The nose is rich with black fruits such as blueberries
and blackberries, accompanied by a light balsamic note and brioche. On the palate, it is soft
supported by a lovely freshness, with enveloping tannins and a long fruity aftertaste.
