Description from the seller
Two-row necklace of Akoya cultured pearls with an 18-karat two-tone gold clasp (yellow and white gold). Manufacturer mark: ZUCHT PERLEN HK 1918
The pearls have a good luster, which in macro photographs appears as a clear, though not highly glossy metallic reflection. The nacre density looks solid, evident in the uniform light refraction of the surface. Upon closer inspection, the pearls show fine, age-related surface features (surface blemishes) – slightly mattified areas next to the bright spots, as is typical and expected for natural pearls of this age. The shape and size of the pearls are well matched across both rows (Matching); minor natural irregularities in roundness and surface texture of individual pearls are discernible upon close inspection.
The chain bears an original manufacturer’s tag with the inscription "Zuchtperlen HK 1918", documenting authenticity as cultured pearls.
Specifications:
Pearl type: Akoya cultured pearls, round
Pearl diameter: 8 mm
Color: white, slightly champagne-colored
Finish: two-row, hand-knotted
Overall length: 42 cm
Clasp: 18 karat (750/000) yellow and white gold, box clasp with a push-button
Clasp length: 35 mm
Total weight: 12.5 g
Stamp: 750
Provenance: original label "Zuchtperlen HK 1918" included
Condition: good, age-appropriate condition
Condition report:
The necklace is in good, age-appropriate condition. The clasp is fully functional (box clasp with push-button mechanism), with no cracks or chips on the pearls. The surfaces show light, natural growth features as well as occasional matte areas, which are typical for cultured pearls of this age and reinforce authenticity, though they should not be confused with the deep mirror luster of factory-new, high-gloss pearls.
