Description from the seller

Object: Set of two antique pendant sculptures (boy and girl/child)
Presentation: Boy with flower garland & Girl in classical attire
Style / Tradition: French classical school (in the manner of Moreau / Houdon)
Material: Solid bronze (patinated metal with yellow-gold undertone)
Period: 19th century / early 20th century
Origin: France
Signature / Marks: Unsigned / Anonymous casting
Description:
Beautiful and atmospheric set of two solid bronze statues, cast in the tradition of French 19th-century bronze art. The sculptures depict tenderly worked child figures: a little boy carefully holding a braided flower- or leaf-wreath and a companion girl.
The sculptures are artisanal castings. The underside of the pedestals shows clear, historical filing- and scraping marks and the characteristic yellow-gold metal color, which guarantees the authenticity of the solid bronze (no spelter or zamak). The details in the face, the wreath and the folds of the clothing are very finely worked. The figurines are in a beautiful, authentic condition with a warm, lived-in patina.
Condition:
In good, original condition with normal age- and use-related traces in the patina layer that befit the age. No breaks or restorations. See the detail photos for your own precise impression.
