Description from the seller
Moon in Scorpio
*Original work in epoxy resin, gold leaf (worn and aged by me so it isn’t too shiny) and steel.
Some works are born from hands and others emerge from a much deeper place.
"Moon in Scorpio" is a unique piece, handcrafted, in which the gold leaf embraces the turquoise-blue tones of the depths, while the steel draws an orbit around its own universe. A composition with a mystical, intense, and elegant character that evokes the immensity of the cosmos and the mystery of what escapes the gaze.
Inspired by the symbolism of Scorpio, this work speaks of depth, transformation, and authenticity. Of the beauty hidden beneath the surface, of the darkness that also contains light, and of those invisible forces that connect us with our roots and our essence.
Its meaning is also deeply personal. Scorpio is the sign of my parents, to whom I owe life and a vital part of who I am. During its creation, the gaze of a girl who still accompanies me was present: the ability to find magic in small details, to gaze at the sky with wonder, and to feel that the world remains an infinite universe to discover.
The result is a piece that brings together matter, light, and emotion, inviting each viewer to find their own interpretation within it.
A singular piece, handmade from start to finish, that celebrates our roots, what transforms us, and the essence that remains intact through time.
About the artist: Cristina.
I paint what I call "windows to nature." With more than 20 years of experience (I’m 38), my work emerges from a life spent between the Mediterranean and the mountains.
My training, consolidated in the studios of abstract artists Nivia Diaz-Rubio, Nancy Miranda, and Eva Jurado, has allowed me to specialize in the use of organic textures and mixed media. Today, my pieces form part of private collections in countries such as Mexico, Poland, and Portugal, in addition to numerous corners of Spain.
