Description from the seller
A beautiful, antique coherent set consisting of 4 porcelain tea/wine cups and 4 matching saucers, dating back to the famous Kangxi period (ca. 1700).
All pieces are finely potted with a distinctive moulded ribbed (flower-shaped) body. The interior of the saucers and the exterior of the cups are delicately painted in underglaze blue, depicting the classic 'Long Eliza' (Lange Lijzen) figures alongside playing boys (Zotjes) in a traditional fenced garden setting. Unmarked to the bases, which is fully correct for this type of 18th-century export porcelain.
Dimensions:
• Saucer diameter: 12 cm
• Cup height: 4.2 cm
• Cup depth: 3.2 cm
Condition Report:
Overall good and honest antique condition for their ~300-year age. The unglazed footrims show characteristic production features: natural iron spots and firing grits. Minor, natural fritting (mushi-kui) to the delicate lobed rims.
Specific flaws: One cup features a small, stable hairline fracture (approx. 2 cm) starting from the rim. The remaining 3 cups and all 4 saucers are free from hairlines or structural cracks. No restorations.
Shipping:
The items will be professionally and very securely packed to ensure safe transit.
