Set of four very old Christmas decorations dating to 1940–1950, made of iron and paper, including a wire sleigh with Santa, a positionable wire figure on a wooden stick, a papier‑maché female figure, and a two‑tone garland with felt figures.
Description from the seller
Four beautiful, different, very old Christmas decoration items.
Gorgeous old decorations for Christmas, a carriage made of chenille wire, adorned with gold and silver thread. In the sleigh sits Santa Claus, made of chenilled wire, with a whip in his hand, and a bell and hat lie in the sleigh. There is a string attached to the sleigh so it can be hung in the Christmas tree. As far as I know, everything is original.
The second item is also made of chenilled wire, allowing the figure to be positioned. The swing is a real wooden stick, his face is made of papier-mâché, with plastic Christmas sprigs, and he sits on a real pinecone. It is a so-called Nisse, often associated with Christmas. The string allows this lovely little man to hang in the Christmas tree.
Then a apparently female Christmas figure made of papier-mâché with in one hand a Christmas bell and in the other a package wrapped in gold paper. The legs and one arm are bendable thanks to a wrapped metal wire. She is missing one boot, and the string from which she could hang is broken.
Fourth item is an old two-tone Christmas garland with four Christmas figures made of felt, sitting on real pinecones.
Chenilledraad is a flexible wire surrounded by soft, fluffy threads. It was widely used in the first half of the last century for Christmas decorations, among other things.
Dimensions:
Sleigh with Santa Claus: 10 x 4 cm, and 7 cm high.
So-called Nisse: 15 cm high, measured without the string.
Female Christmas figure: 13 cm high.
Christmas garland with 4 figures: 175 cm long.
Besides the description, the photos give a good impression. Will of course be carefully packed and shipped.
as an extra, an old Christmas little man
