Lot of 3 Historic Belgian Medals - Rare WW1 (Battle of Nieuport 1914 and Laeken Tribute)
Splendid lot composed of three important and authentic historic and commemorative medals of Belgium, rich in history and period details. Excellent original pieces 100% for militaria collectors of the Great War and European numismatics.
The lot includes:
1. Ancient Medal of King Leopold I (Mid-19th Century): In bronze gilt with magnificent antique patina. On the reverse bears the institutional inscription "SOCIÉTÉ AGRICOLE DE L'EST DE LA BELGIQUE" enclosed in a rich garland of fruits and ears in high relief.
2. Rare Patriotic Medal of King Albert I (WW1 - Year 1914): In silvered metal. On the obverse the profile of the King, on the reverse the famous historical phrase in French: "SOLDATS, MA PLACE EST PARMI VOUS SUR LE CHAMP DE BATAILLE - NIEUPORT OCTOBRE 1914".
3. Medal of Honor "Comité de Laeken" (WW1 - Period 1914-1918): In silvered metal. On the obverse an allegorical figure with palm, on the reverse the crowned heraldic emblem of the city and the official inscription: "HOMMAGE AUX COMBATTANTS DE LA CAMPAGNE 1914-1918".
