Description from the seller
Here is an iconic historical object from American World War II airborne troops (US Airborne WWII). It is a ripcord trigger handle in a “T” shape, painted bright red originally and mounted on its braided steel cable. This model equipped WWII parachutes, notably reserve and dorsal chutes used by the men of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions as well as by USAAF crews.
The handle retains its distinctive era red paint with a very beautiful natural patina and light signs of use that attest to its authenticity. The braided steel cable is complete, accompanied by its crimp and the original locking end in perfect condition. The whole is in excellent vintage condition for a piece of this era, perfectly solid and unaltered.
It is the ideal item to complete a display of an American paratrooper mannequin, an era parachute, or a demanding WW2 Militaria collection.
