Bright red, blue and black: an extraordinarily powerful clash of colors for this splendid Gitanes poster, with graphics by Georges Yoldjoglou and signature reproduced at the top left.

The composition transforms a corrida scene into an intelligent advertising invention: the torero hides behind a large drape that reproduces the Gitanes image, while the bull’s silhouette emerges in the lower corner. In the center, the famous black dancer rises between white and blue swirls, above the brand’s large lettering and the slogan “avec ou sans filtre”.

A theatrical and ironic image, built with a few elements of great effectiveness: the hands gripping the drape, the yellow details of the costume and the red painterly background make the poster especially lively and decorative.

On the lower margin appears the inscription “Régie Française des Tabacs”; along the right edge the references “Création S.E.I.T.A.” and the typography Chabrillac are visible.

Printed on paper with a slightly glossy surface finish.

Dimensions: about 54 × 40 cm.

Excellent overall condition, with intense colors and a beautiful overall rendering. There are slight surface marks and small creases and curvature at the margins and corners, as visible in the photographs, an integral part of the description.
