MEDSAN - Bulbasaur's Jungle Gramophone (フシギダネとジャングルの蓄音機) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXIST - EDITION 1/1

In this square format, Medsan introduces Bulbasaur, the Grass-type Pokémon from the Pokémon franchise, into a jungle under a full moon. In a clearing of soft grass, the little turquoise Pokémon with dark spots carries its green bulb on its back. Its mouth is wide open and its red eyes are lifted toward a gramophone placed on a dark wood chest. A black record spins on the platter and the large golden horn leans toward it, as if to sing something to it.
Around it, the vegetation closes in with banana leaves, monstera, and palm fronds. In the upper left, a red macaw stands on a branch. Opposite, a blue-and-yellow macaw keeps watch among ripe oranges, above a toucan with an orange beak. Red heliconias, a large pink flower, white lilies, and vermilion hibiscus line the clearing. In the distance, between the trees, a lake reflects the moon in front of a village with red roofs, its white steeple, and bluish mountains. One would think they are attending a nocturnal concert given for a single listener.

A tender and lush scene, ideal to bring a splash of color and nostalgia to a Pokémon collector’s interior.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits pop culture icons by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within Atelier Joconde, a family of artists’ workshop, alongside artists Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
