MEDSAN - Galaxy Express 999 (銀河鉄道999) - UNIQUE WORK

ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD EXISTS - EDITION 1/1

In this square format, Medsan renders Leiji Matsumoto's Galaxy Express 999 in a starry night. The black locomotive cuts the sky diagonally, its headlight on and the nose plaque reading “999” in gold. Its illuminated cars rush behind it in a long plume of white steam. At the window of the lead car, Tetsuro Hoshino, tousled brown hair, gazes into the distance. Maetel stands beside him, long blonde hair under her black fur cap, her face calm.
Below, a city of dark towers lights up. On the platform of a station stamped “EARTH DEPARTS TODAY,” silhouettes of travelers wearing hats follow the train with their eyes as it moves away, while an arched viaduct crosses the right side of the scene. Around them float the blue Earth, a pale moon, a ringed planet, and a spiral galaxy. In the upper left corner, the title “GALAXY EXPRESS 999” stretches in large gold letters, and short ivory phrases promise “A KINDER UNIVERSE.” From deep blue, black, and warm gold: it’s the evening of the grand departure.

A nostalgic and luminous piece, ideal for adding a touch of interstellar travel to the interior of a passionate anime collector.
