MEDSAN - Grendizer Facing the Volcano (火山を見つめるグレンダイザー) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

In this vertical format, Medsan places Goldorak, the giant robot from UFO Robot Grendizer, with his back to the summit of a wind-swept cliff. He stands with his legs apart, fists clenched along his sides, and gazes toward the horizon, where a volcano spews a column of black smoke veined with red flames. His yellow horns, the red V on his chest, and his black shoulders stand out against a slate-blue sky pierced by white clouds. At his feet, tall pampas grasses bent by the gust cover the rock, and a gnarled pine clings to the edge of the cliff.
Lower down, the rough sea breaks on black reefs and on steep islets that vanish into the mist. Red leaves swirl across the sky, carried by the same wind that moves the grasses. In the upper left, a vertical cartouche bears in black the name グレンダイザー. A border of blue and red waves and clouds frames the scene. The giant seems to await the mountain’s silence.

A strong, nostalgic piece, ideal for bringing a touch of adventure and Japan into the interior of a collector faithful to the heroes of their childhood.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the world of medicine and anatomy; under Popsan, he revisits icons of pop culture by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works still appear under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within Atelier Joconde, a family of artists’ workshop, alongside Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
