MEDSAN - Jurassic Park T-Rex (ジュラシック・パークのティラノサウルス) - UNIQUE WORK

THERE IS ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD - EDITION 1/1

On this vertical format, Medsan makes the Tyrannosaurus from Jurassic Park rise above a Japanese valley shrouded in mist, at the moment a red sun sinks behind a bluish peak. The dinosaur rises out of the pines up to its chest, mouth wide open on its fangs, the yellow eye fixed on two travelers wearing conical straw hats who skim away on a wooden bridge, leaning forward, bundles and coats billowing behind them. In the orange sky, three pterosaurs cross a dark helicopter, the one that flies over the island in the film.
In the foreground, a calm pond reflects the evening light among water lilies and reeds, while a tall clump of bamboo closes off the left side. At the upper right, the cartouche メドサン accompanies a red cartouche reading 失われた島, “the Lost Island”; at the lower left, a second red cartouche bears 貴重な. The sky shifts from pêche to coral, the mountains to slate blue, the bamboo to dark green. A frantic escape, seized in the calm of the evening.

A striking piece, ideal for bringing a touch of cinema and Japan to the interior of a collector who loves dinosaurs and pop culture.

About Medsan / Popsan:
Medsan and Popsan are two signatures of a single artist. Under the name Medsan, he explores the world of medicine and anatomy; under the name Popsan, he revisits pop culture icons by blending pop art, Japanese art, and anachronisms. On Catawiki, his pop works appear still under the name Medsan, but they belong to the Popsan universe. He creates within Atelier Joconde, a family of artists, alongside Le Yack (figurative painting) and Neo Pablo (abstraction).
