Pair of two decorative Desvres faience pieces by Massé Frères, consisting of a large lidded urn and a matching vase.

The two pieces feature a rich hand-painted polychrome decoration, including dragons/fantastical creatures, arabesques, vegetal motifs and geometric borders, in a particularly decorative palette.

Dimensions:

Lidded urn: about 32 cm in height
Vase: about 27 cm in height

Both pieces bear a handwritten signature under their base, reading “Massé Frères.”

The set is especially interesting due to its large size, the very rich decoration, and the coherence between the two pieces, which are presented together.

Era: second half of the 20th century, Massé Frères period.
Origin: Desvres, France.

Condition: very good overall. No chips apparent upon visual examination. Given the age of the pieces, there may be light signs of wear.
