AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Pair of Louis XV wall sconces in gilded bronze – 2 arms – 19th century

Stunning pair of antique wall sconces in gilded and chiselled bronze, of very fine decorative quality, in the Louis XV taste, which I place in the middle of the 19th century, probably under Napoleon III, circa 1850–1870.

Each sconce features a particularly elegant and dynamic composition with two lights, richly adorned with foliage, acanthus leaves, volutes and rocaille motifs.

The decorative elements are worked with a lot of relief and finesse, with a beautiful alternation between the gilded parts and the darker patina of the bronze.

The antique gilding is still well present in places, with an authentic patina. The traces and hue variations visible are those of an antique piece and contribute to its character. No major restoration or break.
