Atari - 2600 VCS - Defender II - Video game - Without original box

Defender II for the Atari 2600 is the direct sequel to the famous space shooter. Originally developed in arcades by Williams Electronics in 1981 under the name Stargate, the game arrived on the home Atari console with a peculiarity tied to the name: it was initially released as Stargate (1984/1985) and later re-released at the end of the '80s under the official title Defender II due to trademark concerns.
This chapter, programmed by Bill Aspromonte, is regarded by the retro-gaming community as considerably superior to the first installment for the Atari 2600. The developers managed to push the hardware to its limits, nearly eliminating the troublesome flicker (the aliens' flicker) and creating one of the most extraordinary arcade conversions ever to appear on the console.
