Longairou - Sculpture, Le Pas - 9.5 cm - Terracotta - 1955

Figurative terracotta sculpture, depicting a bare foot rendered in a deliberately expressive and minimalist style.

The piece is entirely handcrafted, with particularly interesting work on the anatomical volumes, the fingers, and the curvature of the foot.

The surface preserves slight irregularities and traces of shaping that reinforce its artisanal character and give the whole a very sculptural presence.

The sculpture bears on the reverse the date 1955, as well as an engraved signature that can be read “Longairou,” pending identification.
