Product Description
[Traditional Japanese Art] Lacquered Inkstone Box (Suzuribako) with Floral and Botanical Motifs
This inkstone box, adorned with beautiful floral and botanical patterns, embodies a traditional Japanese aesthetic.
Set against a sophisticated black background, the design features vibrant depictions of flowers—reminiscent of chrysanthemums—alongside autumn grasses and delicate, pampas grass-like motifs. The colors—red, white, yellow, and gold—stand out brilliantly against the black, creating a design that is both striking and elegant.
The ornamentation, which captures the beauty of Japan’s four seasons and the natural world, evokes the essence of traditional Japanese art.
The interior is divided into several compartments, designed to hold calligraphy tools such as an inkstone and brushes. Beyond its practical utility, it serves as an excellent collector’s piece for those with an interest in traditional Japanese crafts and the culture of calligraphy.
When closed, the box functions as a beautiful, Japanese-style decorative object. It makes for a wonderful interior accent, perfect for a study or living room, bringing a touch of traditional Japanese culture into your space.
Highly recommended for those with an interest in Japanese calligraphy and traditional decorative arts.
