Description from the seller
Elegant vase in glossy white porcelain, produced by the prestigious Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur Berlin (KPM), a historic Berlin manufactory founded in 1763 on the initiative of Frederick the Great and still listed among the most important European porcelain manufactories.
The vase has a truncated-cone shape, of great geometric purity, set on a narrow base that widens harmoniously toward the upper part. The result is a slender vase with a rigorous and minimalist character.
The surface, entirely white and devoid of decorations, highlights the quality of the porcelain and the softness of the silhouette. The absence of ornaments is particularly meaningful in KPM production, which in the course of the twentieth century developed a strong focus on pure forms, functional and of modernist lineage: in the thirties, under the direction of Günther von Pechmann, the manufactory was indeed influenced by the principles of Neue Sachlichkeit (New Objectivity) and modern design.
Excellent overall condition.
Dimensions 34.5x17 cm.
