Het book title is Het boek der Psalmen; Nieuwe Testament; Catechismus (gezangen en vormen volgens de Hervormde Kerk), a Dutch language leather‑bound Bible printed in Haarlem by Johannes Enschedé en Zonen in 1861 with 1236 pages.
Description from the seller
Printed in Haarlem by Johannes Enschede 1861.
Antique Bible with a silver clasp (often a pocket Bible or church Bible) from the 18th/19th century, executed in a brown leather cover with blind embossing. Weight 569 grams.
• The Lion with a '2' (Lopend leeuwtje): This is the official Dutch fineness mark for second-grade silver (833/1000 pure silver).
• The Minerva's head (Minervakop): This is the assay office where the silver is tested. In the helmet of the Minerva head a letter indicates the specific city.
• The Year letter (Right in the shield): This is a Gothic or numeral letter 'g', which stands for the production year 1891.
• The Master mark (Left): This is the stamp of the silversmith who hand-engraved and made the clasp. The stamp is unfortunately a bit vague (possibly a narrow combination of letters in an oval), which at the time was common among silversmiths from active silver towns such as Schoonhoven.
Shipped by registered mail and well packed.
