Description from the seller
Ventzislav Dikov (Bulgarian, b. 1979)
À quoi bon tout ça? (What's the Point of It All?), 2026
Oil on canvas
75 × 80 cm
Signed on the front. Original, one-of-a-kind painting.
Ventzislav Dikov is a Bulgarian contemporary painter and musician. His work has been presented in more than 40 solo exhibitions, including exhibitions in Tokyo, Sofia and Varna. His paintings combine poetic imagination, symbolism and subtle humour, exploring the delicate boundary between reality and the imaginary.
À quoi bon tout ça? presents a colourful gathering of imaginary creatures, unusual human figures, fantastical animals and mysterious symbols. Arranged across a pale, almost weightless background, these characters coexist in a playful universe where unexpected encounters and visual surprises unfold in every corner.
The painting combines humour, curiosity and a touch of philosophical irony. Its title — What's the Point of It All? — introduces a gently existential question, while the lively colours and whimsical inhabitants suggest a celebration of imagination, diversity and the delightful absurdity of existence.
The painting is in excellent condition and will be carefully packed and shipped on its wooden stretcher. A Certificate of Authenticity can be provided upon request.
