Description from the seller
Alfredo Grimaldi – “Terrazza fiorita sul blu”
The painting presents a coastal view observed through a rich frame of flowers, with a village whose facades glow as it descends along the slope to the water. The houses, arranged in a sequence of pinks, yellows, whites and delicate greens, build a lively architectural pattern, punctuated by dark windows and roofs in vivid colors. The profile of the coast moves back toward the center, opening the composition to the vastness of the sea.
The waters occupy much of the scene and are animated by broad strokes of blue, azure and turquoise, interrupted by small white marks suggesting sails and reflections. In the foreground, pink and red blossoms crowd along the lower edge, culminating on the right in a warm vase of ochre and terracotta. This flowering outlook gives depth to the view and ideally invites the observer to linger before the panorama. The color, laid on with energetic gestural brushwork, returns a sunny vision of the Mediterranean, where architecture, vegetation and sea participate in a single harmony.
