Description from the seller

Selling extremely rare journals Le Courrier François in Burlesque Vers by Saint-Julien. It resumes the journal of Théophraste Renaudot’s sons who stayed in Paris and favored the Fronde, while their father must follow the Court to Saint-Germain because he has a monopoly on information with his Gazette.
Renaudot, should the Fronde prevail, asks his sons to print a journal supporting the Fronde and opposing Mazarin, while he, at the Court, prints his Gazette favorable to the power in place.
Le Courrier François des fils Renaudot is a journal that appeared for two months and counted 12 issues. It came out on Fridays and Saint-Julien translated it into burlesque verse to offer it on Sundays. It often mocks Mazarin. Le Courrier François also counts 12 issues from January 5, 1649 (The year and month were quite new) to April 3, 1649 (The first of April followed by Saturday on the eve of Easter).
Complete set of the 12 issues in Very Good condition except the first page of No. 12 slightly torn at the margin. These journals are 377 years old!
"Their Court made a proper Arrest / To ours of the eighth of January / By which we send to heckle / The Cardinal and his Companions... / This day departed from Saint-Denis / Where the Mazarians build their nest... / But from Saint-Germain one writes / That Mazarin, wicked spirit / To break the Correspondence / Between Paris and France / Has arrested the Courriers... / It was the fifth of the month / That some Mazarin troops / To continue their ruin / And the dismay of the plain country... / All the events of the Fronde are dated and described:
The year and the month were quite new / Of the year sixteen hundred forty-nine / It was the fifty-ninth day / The Queen had very well determined / Mazarin had not dined / When the Queen and Her Eminence / Led the Frand King of France / Out of the City, into the Faux-Bourg... / And this Wednesday the twentieth of January / That day the Polish troops / Who are by no means courteous / To the town of Sèvre and Meudon / Committed thirty violences / And more than a dozen insolences / They plundered sacred places / And these licentious rascals / exposed the marriages of the village girls / They made the husbands cuckolds...
