Description from the seller
Armand Meffre (1929–2009) French actor and painter.
- Spring 1999
Emblematic actor of theatre and cinema, Armand Meffre acted under the direction of major filmmakers alongside Philippe Noiret, Jean Rochefort or Gérard Depardieu.
Trained in painting with master André Lhote, he developed a sensitive, luminous and profoundly humane body of work. His paintings, imbued with tenderness and poetry, reveal a profoundly human gaze, between restrained emotion and sincere simplicity. A complete artist, whose each canvas tells a story and moves with its authenticity.
A painter of great talent with significant results at public sales. Participates in major international art fairs in the United States, China and Europe.
