Description from the seller
Bartali Vintage - Vintage Racing Bicycle by Campagnolo
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
In this auction is a fascinating and rare vintage racing bicycle branded Gino Bartali, a true piece of the history of classical Italian cycling. The bicycle preserves its original metallic silver paint, enhanced by historical Bartali decals with Italian tricolor details and the original head tube badge.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS
The bicycle is equipped with a prestigious vintage Campagnolo groupset. The gearing includes a Campagnolo Valentini / Extra rear derailleur, Campagnolo front derailleur, Campagnolo down tube shifters, and a vintage aluminum double-chainring crankset paired with vintage cage pedals and toe clips. The braking system consists of vintage brake calipers and brake levers on the handlebars with vintage lever hoods. The cockpit features an aluminum handlebar stem mounted to a racing drop with vintage blue tape. The saddle is an old Selle San Marco model protected by film, mounted on an aluminum seatpost. The wheels have vintage aluminum rims for tubeless tires.
CONDITION AND APPEARANCE
The bicycle is in good original preserved condition, unrestored, with an incomparable patina of time. The steel frame appears solid and intact. The paint and decals show widespread and normal signs of aging, small superficial scratches, patination and wear marks that enhance its historical authenticity. The rubber coverings on the brake levers and the tubular tires show aging signs and a service or replacement is recommended for possible road use. Mechanically well preserved.
SHIPPING AND PACKAGING NOTES
The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via a tracked and insured courier. Please note that, to ensure safer shipping and to reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle may be disassembled, such as pedals, saddle, rims, and the handlebar will be rotated.
