Description from the seller
Unique antique ceramic bowl:
* cream-colored glazed earthenware
* central blue-and-white floral motif and detailed border drawing
* mark on the bottom: 'Boch Frères La Louvière '
* 'Made in Belgium' and 'Fabrication Belge' indicate international export
* the letter 'F' refers to the individual painter, decorator or production team
* specifically around the mark with turrets on top and an olive branch to the left
* frequently used in the 1920s to the 1930s
* the deep blue floral design is known at Boch as the 'Grand Bouquet' decor
Although the factory also produced décors under the name 'Delfts Blauw' (for traditional Dutch-Old Holland landscapes or fishermen scenes) this purely symmetrical, stylized floral pattern falls under the floral tradition that was very popular in the 1920s and 1930s. The design combines classical elements with the tighter geometry of the early Art Deco period.
