Napoleon I bust dating to 1970, cast in alloy with a patinated bronze appearance on a polychrome veined marble base, signed and produced in France (R.C. 365 FRANCE), 15 cm high, 10 cm wide and 10 cm deep, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Elegant bust of Napoleon I in patinated bronze with rich tonalities, presented on a superb veined polychrome marble base.
The sculpture offers a very fine level of detail: bicorne hat, epaulettes, military decorations, imperial uniform and the iconic “N” crowned with laurel are treated with relief and precision.
The contrasts between the dark patina and the gilded parts highlight the face and the ornaments particularly well.
The natural stone base, with pink, ochre and cream hues, gives the whole piece an elegant and monumental presence. A plaque bearing the inscription “NANCY” completes the presentation.
The piece bears at the back the mark “R.C. 365 FRANCE”, attesting to French manufacture.
A beautiful decorative object of character, both historic and refined, ideal for a study, a library, or a collection devoted to Napoleon and the First Empire.
