Description from the seller
Title: Rococo Impressionist
School: European Impressionist (19th century)
Style: Impressionism with Rococo influence
Technique: Oil on canvas
Delicate scene inspired by gallant aesthetics that combines the spontaneity of the impressionist brushstroke with the elegance and refinement typical of Rococo taste. The composition depicts an outdoor gathering in a garden or park, where a group of characters dressed in 18th-century attire enjoys a moment of leisure and entertainment. At the center of the scene stands a young woman swinging on a swing while several gentlemen and ladies observe or converse relaxedly, evoking the traditional French fêtes galantes.
The work features a palette of soft, luminous tones, with loose brushwork that blurs the contours and gives prominence to atmosphere and light effects. The treatment of the figures and the landscape creates a sense of movement and lightness, lending a evocative and romantic character to the whole.
The piece is presented in a classical wooden frame with stepped moldings. It combines an exterior finish in a dark tone with a wide interior gold moulding that appears aged and a white matting that adds depth and enhances the pictorial composition. The whole presents an elegant and balanced presentation, in line with the decorative nature of the work.
Observations:
- Restorations present.
- The artwork may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In that case, we will need photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority.
Exceptional shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to factors such as being outside a continental territory, oversize measurements, or weight of the item. PremiArt will not cover such surcharge.
Due to border issues with Switzerland we are obliged to inform that shipments longer than 1 meter in length or height to that destination will not be carried out.
Because of the high volume of shipments, orders may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions about your order, please contact us via internal messaging.
