Description from the seller
Riccardo Pellegrini – Rural scene with figures and animals – Oil on cardboard – Signed
Interesting oil painting on cardboard by Riccardo Pellegrini (1863–1934), Italian painter known for his lively genre scenes, characterized by bright, dynamic painting rich in narrative details.
The work depicts a suggestive scene of daily life set in a rural courtyard, animated by popular figures, domestic animals, terracotta vessels and household objects.
In the center of the composition, a character is engrossed in his activities, surrounded by hens and other elements typical of peasant life. In the background, rustic architectures and lush vegetation contribute to a genuine and picturesque atmosphere.
The painting stands out for a quick, vigorous and strongly tactile brushstroke, through which the artist builds the forms with vivid color contrasts and evocative effects of light.
Particularly interesting is the richness of the palette, dominated by warm ochre, brown and orange tones, brightened by the greens of the vegetation and the luminous touches that animate the scene.
The execution immediacy, the dynamism of the composition and the attention to the most spontaneous aspects of daily life give the work considerable pictorial charm.
The painting presents a red signature at the bottom, visible in the photographic documentation.
The work is set in an important wooden frame with brown and gold finish, enriched by ornamental decorations. A metal plaque bearing the artist's name is affixed to the frame.
The frame visible in the photo is included as a courtesy and is not an integral part of the work.
Any damage to the frame will not be a valid reason for complaints or cancellations
