AI-assisted summary
Description from the seller
A highly attractive original 1981 UK first pressing of U.K. Subs' Diminished Responsibility on GEM Records (GEMLP 112), issued on the distinctly collectable translucent red vinyl. This was the band's fourth studio album and their final LP for GEM, capturing the classic U.K. Subs line-up around Charlie Harper during a creatively fertile period. The album features strong tracks including "You Don't Belong," "So What," "Confrontation," "Party In Paris," "Gangster" and "Just Another Jungle," showcasing Harper's distinctive vocal presence alongside the band's raw, punchy punk-influenced sound. The original UK pressing is particularly notable for its distinctive runout inscriptions, including markings such as "BILBO LUVS IT..." and "AND THE SUBS!" on documented first cuts. UK copies came equipped with the original printed lyric inner sleeve, which remains a key identifier of the genuine first pressing and adds significant value to this release today.
⸻
Sleeve (EX):
The original sleeve presents in excellent condition with only very light signs of age and handling. The front cover remains bright and sharp, while the back cover is clean and well preserved. A strong, highly presentable example that grades EX.
Inner Sleeve:
Original printed lyric inner sleeve included.
Vinyl (EX):
A very clean copy with beautiful original gloss and excellent clarity. There is one longer superficial mark present, but it is surface-level and does not materially detract from the overall presentation. Apart from this isolated mark, the vinyl remains extremely clean throughout, comfortably grading EX.
